Mei Ann Teo

Director


Mei Ann Teo is a Chinese Singaporean theater director and filmmaker, based in the San Francisco Bay Area,   USA. She is the founding director of Mahjong Films, a film and editorial production company, and the Resident Artist at Pacific Union College where she helms the drama program specializing in ensemble theater work. Teo is an associate artist with award-winning San Francisco companies Crowded Fire Theater, and the Theater of Yugen. Teo’s directorial credits include: Middle Flight (critically acclaimed world premiere at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2001- called “an intellectual feast” by Three Weeks, and a “stunning monologue…carefully constructed and paced” by The Scotsman, US/UK tour 2006), Waiting for Godot, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Porcelain (Top Ten List SF BAY TIMES), and Bee-Luther-Hatchee (winner of multiple Dollie Awards, including Best Production and Best Director).

Cellist/Beatboxer

                 

Cellojoe is an anomaly in the world of cellists in that, by combining cello with beatboxing, he has created a unique genre: classical hip hop. Combining looped beatboxing beats (vocal percussion) and cello with conscious lyrics, cellojoe spreads joy, laughter and consciousness raising vibrations to all.Cellojoe's eclectic sound also incorporates the style of jug band and kids's music. He is also the world's first long distance musical bike touring cellist. In 2007-2008, he rode with the pleasant revolution, a 5,000 mile bike tour from north San Juan, California to Palenque, Chiapas, Mexico.







 Jazzmen Lee-Johnson

Guitarist/Drummer


Jazzmen Lee-Johnson is a visual artist, filmmaker, designer, dancer, MC, musician and activist.  Upon graduation from Rhode Island School of Design, she traveled internationally to study the "politics of performance" as a Thomas J. Watson Fellow.  Her award winning films and animations, such as Beat Back Bush; Songs from Th Haven of Despair; Black, White, Whatever; and Soundcheck have been exhibited on every continent except Antarctica. Recently, Jazzmen has lived and worked between New York and Johannesburg, South Africa, collaborating with artists, musicians, and media professionals on both sides of the Atlantic in a multi-media project and performance tour called Folk  Told Me.  Jazzmen works with people of all ages wherever folks happen to be, from prisons, schools, and churches to villages and city streets, utilizing art as a tool for social change.  





Marco Rizzuto

Guitarist


Born in Brooklyn and bred in Queens, New York, Marco Rizzuto is a guitarist, educator, and composer. His playing style is unique and encompasses many different types of music, from classical to jazz. Marco doesn't miss a note  (for beat for that matter). When not recording in the studio and managing a recording company (Post Partum Productions), Marco can be found teaching a dedicated group of students at the Queens School of Music in  Flushing, Queens.






Marcus Rogers

Drummer


Marcus is a self-taught drummer who has had a deep love for music for as long as he can remember. Some of his many influences include: the heart beat, his family & chosen family, life, the healing arts, the elements, hip hop, soul music, & freedom. He is a visual artist who enjoys painting, mixed media & collage. Marcus lives in Oakland, California where he works with adults with developmental disabilities. 






Nick Moyer
Trumpeter/Accordionist


From the subways of New York City to the farmers markets of Seattle, multi-instrumentalist and busker Nick Moyer has been delighting innocent bystanders since 2009. Equipped with an accordion, pocket trumpet, and homemade foot percussion, Nick plays original arrangements from an eclectic mix of artists wherever people will listen.  He hails from Mt. Vernon, Washington, and is currently studying mechanical engineering at Columbia University.








DJane Lois Lane

DJane Lois Lane is currently a New York City-based video turntablist, recognized for her unique integration of her passion for blending all genres of music with corresponding video clips. This shejay takes pride in revolutionizing the art by using visuals as a form of medium to spread messages to the senses simultaneously about crucial issues corrupting our system, for instance, capitalism, sexism, racism, and other -isms. Rather than being a traditional DJ bound to one trade, DJane Lois Lane balances a multitude of projects, such as providing visuals for live performers and/or musicians as well as nightclub gigs.  She can be spotted spinning everything from Bon Jovi to Michael Jackson during “I LOVE THE 80's” night at Vudu Lounge on Manhattan’s upper east side. She also works with some of DJ’s most legendary talents, showcasing an opening set for Rob Swift from the X-ecutioners for a private party at the Whiskey Ward. Plus, she has earned the opportunity to rub elbows with master instructor DJ Noumenon and instructor DJay Jung as a teacher’s assistant at Scratch DJ Academy.

Manauvaskar Kublall is an award winner director, community activist, educator, and visual artist born of Indo-Caribbean heritage. He credits his distinct artistic voice to his immigrant experience and a commitment to present stories of under represented communities.  His films and photography are dedicated to ensuring that marginalized communities are heard, understood, respected, and empowered to contribute to transforming society.
